Tips for Taking the ACT Science
- The answer is there: Understand the question and find the answer within the passage, chart, or table.
- Trust the question: If the question says “According to Table 2,” then the answer is there.
- Mark up the booklet: As you read, underline, circle, cross out, any information that seems like it could be an answer. Include the drawings. Information will be obvious as to lead to the answer.
- Be flexible: Quickly scan the charts and drawings to see if it seems overwhelming to tackle at the moment. Skip around and do the easiest ones first.
- Reading is the primary skill: Be sure you practice reading everyday to overcome being caught by the time clock.
